Welcome. Our mission is to programmatically serve the elderly in the community through the provision of a variety of comprehensive services that meet the nutritional, recreational, educational, informational, and other needs of program participants in a caring and sensitive manner.
The programs and services at the Allen Community Senior Citizens Center are offered free of charge to adults who are 60 years of age or older.
Our Focus
The Allen Community Senior Citizens Center (ACSCC) is a place where seniors can feel at home. It is a place where seniors enjoy programs, activities and services that improve their quality of life and enhance their independence.
The list of available programs at ACSCC includes dance classes, fitness and exercise classes, informational travelogues, reading clubs, arts and needlecraft classes and much more. Senior activities include happy hour socials, holiday parties, weekday and evening dances, bridge, card games, billiards, table tennis, chess, movies, day trips and overnight excursions.
It’s never too late to acquire new skills and accumulate knowledge. At ACSCC, seniors learn about wealth and resource management, beginning and intermediate computer technology, driver safety, hearing deficiency and hearing aids, memory improvement and more.
Senior Nutrition
Our bodies change as we age and seniors have very different nutritional needs than teenagers, children, and even middle-aged adults. Age-related changes can affect how senior body’s process food, which influences dietary needs and affects appetites. Get tips about eating well at ACSCC, and enjoy a daily, balanced, nutritional lunch.
Senior Recreation
ACSCC offers opportunities for persons 60 years of age or older, to socialize, stay fit, improve health and receive age-related services in a friendly and nurturing environment. Our daily programs and activities help seniors stay active, which, in turn, helps to boost immune systems, lower blood pressure and reduce the likelihood of depression and isolation
